Michael B. DeBrule, DPM

Dr. Michael B. DeBrule is board certified in wound care with over a decade of private practice experience. He graduated in 2000 from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. DeBrule completed residency training in podiatric medicine and surgery in Chicago, Illinois at Cook County Hospital and Tucson, Arizona at Southern Arizona Department of Veterans Medical Center. His research has been published in Podiatry Today, the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. His clinical interests include foot surgery, gait analysis, ultrasound guided procedures, foot orthotics, sports medicine, biomechanics, and wound care.

Dr. DeBrule grew in nearby Woodbury, MN and returned home to practice in the Twin Cities. He enjoys spending time with family, coaching hockey, and running marathons.

Dale Vancil, DPM

Dr. Dale Vancil was a student at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, followed by the University of Minnesota, and Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine from 1980-1984.  He was a member at Durlacher Podiatry Honor Society, a tutor of Anatomical Sciences, Anatomy, Physiology and Histology.

Dr. Vancil was also a member of student chapter of American College of Foot Surgeons, and a member of student chapter of Academy of Ambulatory Foot Surgeons. He was also a teacher’s assistant for anatomy while also on the student advisory committee.

Dr. Dale Vancil’s care philosophy is that he believes all patients deserve to have the information needed to make good choices about their foot and ankle care. He works to educate each patient and begin a substantial treatment plan with the highest quality of care.
Dr. Vancil specializes in Podiatric Surgery and Podiatric foot Surgery. 

Eric Nelson, DPM

Dr. Nelson grew up in Long Island, New York. He completed his undergraduate degree at Pace University with a BS in Biology in 2009 and went on to receive his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2014.

After graduating, Dr. Nelson completed a 3-year surgical residency at Bellevue Hospital in New York City where he focused on surgical correction of bunions, hammer toes, fractures, amputations and various other pathologies. During residency, he took a special interest in treating acute and chronic diabetic pedal wounds while advocating for conservative treatment with the occasional surgical component, but always what is best for the patient.

Dr. Nelson believes in a multi-disciplinary approach to providing the best possible foot and ankle care, as well as educating patients to make informed decisions about their treatment options.

Eric Affeldt, DPM

Dr. Affeldt attended the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, where he received a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine​. He then earned his degree as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Affeldt completed residency training in podiatric medicine and surgery in Minneapolis, MN at the Minneapolis Department of Veterans Affairs. He has over 16 years of podiatric experience focused on conservative podiatric treatment including diabetic foot care, bio-mechanics, sports medicine and wound care. Dr. Affeldt is a strong advocate for all patients with emphasis on education, prevention and corrective techniques.

Dr. Affeldt grew up near La Crosse, WI and has resided in the Twin Cities for the last 20 years. He enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and watching his kids compete in their respective sports.

Brent Larson, DPM

Dr. Brent Larson is board certified in podiatric medicine and surgery. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul with a Bachelors in Biochemistry. He then went to the Des Moines University's School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his Residency training in New York. His clinical interests include foot and ankle surgery, diabetic wound care, limb salvage and sports medicine. 

Dr. Larson grew up in Plymouth, Minnesota, and attended Wayzata High School.

Todd Peabody, DPM

Dr. Todd A. Peabody received a BS in Applied Engineering Science from Michigan State University and Doctorate from William M Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Peabody completed a 3-year residency in reconstructive foot & ankle surgery at Beaumont - Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, MI.


Thoroughly trained in all aspects of podiatric medicine, Dr. Peabody enjoys all facets of podiatry including both conservative and surgical treatment, with a special emphasis on biomechanics and sports medicine.

Prior to beginning his podiatric career, Dr. Peabody spent many years working in a biomechanics and gait research laboratory gaining experience in the complex nuance of foot & ankle mechanics, specifically including work in athletic footwear design/development, orthotic testing, and gait analysis.

Dr. Peabody is a native of Michigan. He enjoys spending time with his wife and is an avid runner and cyclist and enjoys competing in a variety of events ranging from 5k to ultra-endurance races.

Scott Knutson, DPM

Dr. Knutson is a native Minnesotan. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth (Go Dogs!!) where he received his Bachelors degree in Chemistry. He subsequently earned his Doctorate degree as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, with High honors. He completed a post graduate year of training at the Scholl College and Cook County Hospital in Chicago.

Dr Knutson has over 25 years of private and group practice experience in the state of Minnesota. During this time he also served several years as a board member and President of the Minnesota Podiatric Medical Association. He served as a liaison to the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee and lobbied our representatives in congress on healthcare issues.

His current focus is primary podiatric medicine and providing podiatry services at long-term care facilities and senior retirement communities. He has expertise in conservative treatment of various foot maladies with custom orthopedic foot orthotics and providing care for at risk feet of patients with circulatory disorders and Diabetes.

John W. Cheesebro, DPM

Dr. Cheesebro has a Bachelor's degree in Physiology from the University of Minnesota, and earned his DPM at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. His surgical residency was at Thorek Hospital in Chicago. He is also Board Certified in Foot Surgery from the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.


Since graduating, Dr. Cheesebro has been in private practice in Minneapolis. He joined Midwest Podiatry Centers in 2017 after 35 years of private practice. His focus is on clinical and surgical treatment of the foot.

In his spare time, Dr. Cheesebro enjoys rowing, biking, and both alpine and cross country skiing.

Allison Willkom, DPM

Dr. Allison Willkom is board qualified in Forefoot and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery with the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and she is also an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.


She received her B.S. degree from Duke University, where she also competed as a scholarship Track & Cross-Country athlete. She then graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine before going on to complete here three-year surgical residency at Legacy Health in Portland, OR. At Legacy, she received comprehensive training in Reconstructive and Revision Foot & Ankle Surgery, Lower Extremity Trauma, Diabetic Limb Salvage, and Sports Medicine. In her third and final year, she was granted the honor of serving as Chief Resident of the Program.


Specializing in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, whether it be an acute injury or a chronic condition, Dr. Willkom is committed to providing comprehensive care for all foot and ankle treatment needs. 

As a working wife and mother, practicing physician, and former competitive (yet still active) athlete, Dr. Willkom appreciates the importance of healthy, functional, and pain-free feet throughout all walks of life. She recognizes the physical, mental, and emotional toll that injury and illness can take, and she therefore hopes to utilize her understanding of foot and ankle pathology to maximize prevention and to expedite patient healing. Ultimately, Dr. Willkom believes that patient understanding is the key and final element to success; she therefore strives to educate her patients on their conditons, enabling them to play an active role in their healthcare and ensuring that they feel comfortable and confident in their treatment plans.

Dr. Willkom is excited to be a transplant to Minnesota, moving here with her husband (a Wisconsin native) and young daughter. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and friends, running, trying new recipes, reading, and rooting on her Duke Blue Devils.
